Reconstruction of Ahu (the alter) nearing completion

The next stage of this restoration was the work for reconstruction of a broken alter. The mission picked up broken pieces of stone and pebbles, which had been swept away by tidal wave form the original site, and based on available information and materials they proceeded with stone masonry work, as faithful to the original as possible.
This work seemed to be a sort of jigsaw puzzle, which needed not only patience but energy.
In July, the reconstruction of the alter was almost complete. The dimensions of the restored alter are 98 meters long, 6 meters wide and 4 meters high.
