Without Tadano’s City Cranes, a lot of things simply wouldn’t be possible – Markewitsch’s managing director, André Markewitsch, is firmly convinced of this. After all, his company has already had ample experience with the first AC 60 City, which was acquired back in 2002. With the new AC 3.045 City, the Nuremberg-based crane specialists are now adding another third-generation model to their fleet – in addition to the three City Cranes already in the Markewitsch fleet, which comprises around 20 Tadano cranes. The new addition is destined for the Schweinfurt site and was handed over at the Tadano plant in Lauf by Sales Manager Hans Asam and Tadano DACH Head of Sales Frank Brachtendorf.
“With the City Cranes, we’re not only extremely flexible indoors, but also in general, especially when it comes to navigating tight entrances, maneuvering into corners, or when a compact slewing radius is crucial – in short: wherever space is limited, the City is simply unbeatable,” André Markewitsch sums it up. And the fact that the name City crane is now used across manufacturers for this class of crane proves the success of this concept to him.
What he particularly appreciates about the AC 3.045-1 City, besides its enormous telescoping capacity under load and the capacity radar, is the stepless and asymmetrically extendable Flex Base outriggers, which are invaluable in the typically confined spaces where the City crane operates. “And the fact that it can lift up to 25 tonnes at the heavy-duty jib is also very impressive for a crane of this class,” emphasizes André Markewitsch, whose team often uses the jib with just the spreader and without a hook block.
e-Pack Ready
To cover the broadest possible range of applications with the new AC 3.045-1 City, Markewitsch ordered the crane with e-Pack preparation – this allows the company, for example, to take on projects in sensitive areas with cleanroom production or in environments with special noise emission requirements. Many projects can also be handled more easily, as hall doors do not necessarily have to remain open or fire protection systems deactivated during crane operations.
Versatile Applications
Markewitsch will primarily use the new AC 3.045-1 City in industry and for assembly services. “We ourselves generate around half of our revenue from assembly – and the City has a firm place here,” emphasizes André Markewitsch. After all, these compact cranes are well-suited for many jobs: from lifting machinery in halls to assembling overhead cranes, moving machinery, relocating factories, and many other industrial services.
“Markewitsch’s long-standing loyalty is anything but a given for us. It’s an expression of a trusting and collaborative partnership that we’ve built together over many years. We value this connection and the trust they’ve placed in us all the more,” explains Hans Asam. He adds: “The fact that they’ve once again chosen one of our City Cranes is a strong indication of the quality of our solutions and our partnership.”
