Tadano V320RC Debuts

With the new V320RC crane, Tadano redefines traditional market benchmarks in the high-tonnage pick & carry segment, introducing a suite of unprecedented technical solutions that deliver tangible benefits to the crane user, setting new standards in precision, efficiency, and operational continuity.

This achievement was also made possible by direct collaboration with NMG Italia, the first customer and an active partner in the development of the machine, which brought hands-on field experience and the requirements of industrial lifting customers directly into the project. The crane has already proven its performance in the field during setup operations at Marmomac, the premier Italian trade fair dedicated to the marble industry held annually in Verona.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 35 tonnes, overall dimensions of 5,000 mm x 2,150 mm, and a height of just 2,400 mm, the V320RC delivers unprecedented capability, making maximum lifting power accessible within tight industrial spaces where high-capacity machines traditionally struggle to operate. The machine is powered by a 120V – 1,120 Ah battery system (also available with a lithium-ion option) and has a gross weight of 31,150 kg, including 9,500 kg of removable counterweights, ensuring maximum flexibility for transport and handling operations. Equipped with a comprehensive range of attachments tailored to the most diverse lifting requirements, the new crane is available in both a radio-controlled version —ensuring optimal remote control and total visibility during maneuvers—and a cab-operated configuration.

Among the standout features of the new V320RC is its innovative hydraulic system, which introduces for the very first time in the pick & carry crane sector a variable displacement pump, paired with a high-end electro-hydraulic control valve. The evolution of the hydraulic system alongside a next-generation control software elevates maneuver precision and responsiveness to a higher level, while the variable displacement pump optimizes energy consumption and battery utilization. During on-site operation, NMG Italia recorded a 50% increase in productivity over competing cranes working under equivalent loads, delivering enough battery autonomy to work for multiple days without recharging.

On the safety front, the new patented GPSS (Ground Pressure Selection System) provides real-time monitoring of wheel load on the ground, while a new integrated system promptly alerts the operator if the ground pressure exceeds preset limits. This is a critical feature in industrial plants and all environments where floor load capacity is a crucial parameter for safe operations. Additionally, the fully hydraulic telescopic boom system eliminates the need for traditional mechanical components such as wire ropes or chains, reducing maintenance needs and boosting overall efficiency.

The new V320RC supports the operator in selecting the appropriate operating mode configuration thanks to integrated reading systems that detect the installed attachment and counterweights. A new 10-inch user display also provides real-time access to the corresponding load charts, assisting the operator while anticipating the maneuver to be performed.

The first major testing ground for the V320RC was Marmomac, where the machine was deployed during setup and dismantling activities. According to NMG Italia, the crane debut exceeded expectations, highlighting precision, autonomy, quiet operation and maneuverability.

The V320RC marks a real breakthrough in the pick & carry industry: rather than an evolution of existing solutions, it introduces a new philosophy, with technologies and features capable of setting new benchmarks in the lifting market. Tadano and NMG Italia continue their collaboration in the field, turning real-world experience into new technological solutions to meet the most advanced demands of industrial lifting.
