1. Return Filter for Hydr. Oil
Return Filter for Hydraulic Oil
If used for a long period of time without replacement, clogging of the element will occur.
As a result, the foreign matter in the hydraulic fluid cannot be removed, leading to failure or malfunction of the hydraulic equipment.
2. Air Breather
Air Breather
If used for a long period of time without replacement, clogging of the element will occur.
This interferes with the passage of air into and out of the tank, and possibly resulting in cracking or deformation of the hydraulic oil tank, causing leaks.
3. Fuel Filter & Water Separator
Fuel Filter & Water Separator (pre-fuel filter)
If used for a long period of time without replacement, clogging of the element will occur.
This will result in engine damage, and may cause the crane to malfunction.

4. PCV Valve Element

Blowby gas filter
Oil in the blowby gas is separated by a PCV valve in the element and returned to the oil pan, preventing discharge of blowby gas to the atmosphere.
If used for a long period of time without replacement, clogging of the element will occur.
This will increase internal pressure, resulting in oil leakage from engine oil seals.

5. Filter for Steering Circuit
Filter for Steering Circuit
Accidents may occur if used for a long period of time without replacement.
Contamination in the hydraulic oil (e.g. sludge due to deterioration over time, particles generated by wear of valves) will no longer be filtered. This may result in problems with valve operation, with consequent steering problems. The steering filter plays a very important role in steering of the vehicle.
Left filter image: Comprised internally of three filter sheets. An inner fine filter is sandwiched between two coarse filters to remove contamination (wear particles) from the hydraulic oil.
Right filter image: Even the coarse filter meshes remove considerable amount of debris and contamination, preventing circulation of contamination in the hydraulic oil.

Replace the desiccant if a large amount of water (i.e. condensation) is discharged when the air tank drain cock is opened.
Accidents may occur if used for a long period of time without replacement.

7. Filter in Cooling System
Filter in Cooling System
Heater performance will deteriorate if used for a long period of time without cleaning or replacement.
Clogging will occur, and contamination in the cooling water will no longer be filtered. This will result in rusting and malfunction of equipment in the warm water circuit, and may result in water leaks.
Cleaning procedure
- Remove the hoses from the filter inlet and outlet, and shut off the water.
- Remove the cooling water filter case below the rotary joint, and clean the element.
CAUTION:
The cooling water is very hot immediately after halting operation. Hot water may be released when removing the case, with danger of burns. Commence work after the water has cooled.

8. Wire Rope

If a wire rope breaks during operation, a serious accident could occur.
Check the wire ropes at regular intervals.
Wire ropes that do not meet even one of the criteria given next must be replaced immediately.
Criteria for Replacing Wire Ropes
- Ten percent or more of the wires (except for filler wires) in a lay are broken.
- The diameter of the wire rope is reduced by more than 7% of the nominal diameter."
- A kinked wire rope.
- A badly deformed or corroded wire rope.
- A wire rope damaged by heat or sparks.
