Tadano and Tadano Utilities Exhibit, Demonstrate six advanced models to help electrify CSPI-EXPO 2024

Over 100 Tadano staff members welcomed many visitors to one of the largest exhibitions in Japan to showcase and demonstrate current and future models of Mobile Cranes and Aerial Work Platforms. This included introducing its first fully electrified Rough Terrain Crane - the EVOLT eGR-250N – as well as the new EVOLT Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform.

The CSPI ("Construction & Surveying Productivity Improvement”) EXPO took place May 22nd through the 24th this year in at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The Exhibition is designed to help develop the next generation of the construction and surveying industries, bringing people together to help solve industry problems while addressing ways to improve productivity and minimize environmental impact.

Opening Ceremony

More than 45,000 participants visited CSPI-EXPO this year. Their industries include construction machinery, heavy machinery, and attachments. They also include the newer realms of both i-Construction, which aims for radical production innovation across processes with active utilization of information and construction technology (ICT), and construction DX, which seeks digital transformation across the industry for processes, business models, building models, and ecosystems.

Product Demonstration at the Main Booth

Tadano and Tadano Utilities Ltd. – the result of Tadano Ltd.’s February 2024 acquisition of Nagano Industry Co., Ltd. - exhibited six machines across three booths at CSPI-EXPO. They included one Rough Terrain Crane and five Aerial Work Platforms across three locations:

- At the Main Booth: Three electric products with the theme of environmental initiatives gave presentations and demonstrations.
 ・The EVOLT eGR-250N, the world’s first fully electric Rough Terrain Crane
 ・The EVOLT a fully electric Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform concept model
 ・The NUL07E-7, a fully electric Crawler type Articulated boom Self-Propelled Aerial Work Platform
- At the Sub Booth: Introducing the new Tadano Utilities products that have recently joined the Tadano Group.
 ・The NUS21W-7, A Wheel type Straight boom Self Propelled Aerial Work Platform with a maximum height of 21m exhibited for the first time.
- At the Outdoor Booth: Demonstrations and test drives of exhibited machines
 ・The NUL09-7: A Crawler type Articulated boom Self Propelled Aerial Work Platform
 ・The AT-100TTE: Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform with hybrid operation

EVOLT eGR-250N is the world's first fully electric Rough Terrain Crane

Presentations and demonstrations of three electric products

The EVOLT eGR-250N is the world's first fully electric Rough Terrain Crane. It was both exhibited and demonstrated in operation, with zero emissions. At CSPI-EXPO, Tadano introduced its new "Lift Visualizer" function, which aims to improve work efficiency and safety. Visitors were able to climb into the cab and experience not only the visuals and controls, but the quiet operation of the crane.

A model of the EVOLT Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform, currently in concept phase, was exhibited for reference. Attendees were able to gain a sense of how this fully electric Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform will function for power distribution work and other uses with no diesel engine required.

The NUL07E-7 is a fully electric Crawler type Self Propelled Aerial Work Platform. Tadano’s first battery-powered Aerial Work Platform with a boom type crawler, the NUL07E-7 offers efficient operation with zero emissions. Visitors were able to take test drives and experience the smooth and quiet operation for themselves.

Introduction of the new Tadano Utilities products

At the Sub Booth, visitors could examine the NUS21W-7, another Crawler type Articulated boom Self Propelled Aerial Work Platform. This was the first unveiling of a vertical boom type Aerial Work Platform that achieves a maximum height of 21m above ground. The boom, which nearly reached the ceiling of the massive hall, attracted particular attention from visitors and made it fit that new cooperate slogan on the display said, “Reaching New Heights.”

Demonstrations and test drives of exhibited machines

At the Outdoor Booth, two more models were on display. The AT-100TTE Hybrid is a Truck Mounted Aerial Work Platform designed for communication construction work. It is equipped with an environmentally friendly hybrid device that allows it to switch operation according to the work environment, a display of flexibility that impressed attendees.

The other platform on display the Outdoor Booth was the NUL09-7, another Crawler type Articulating boom Self Propelled Aerial Work Platform. This model introduced an advanced system that significantly improves safety and ensures workability. One key feature demonstrated to visitors was a sensor specialized for the upward direction of the basket, designed to avoid risks of pinching and accidents.

Tadano and Tadano Utilities will continue advancements to maximize safety, quality, and efficiency while also improving the technology that allows for quieter operations and less environmental impact.
